This past weekend in Monroe, WA, was the 5th stage in this year’s Formula D championship season. With the events beginning to get closer to the final rounds, the heat and pressure between all drivers and teams increase to ensure their position in the overall standings. For SSR-sponsored pro-drifter Chris Forsberg, he must continue to be in peak form in order to retain his #1 overall lead for the current season. Chris is the only driver in the 2014 season to have finished on the podium for every round which has him well on his way to winning the 2014 Formula D Championship.

So in February of 2012, I pulled the motor out of my FD RX7. The car ran great, but I wanted torque! You can see some pics from that night here. I planned to be done by that summer and here we are… 2 and a half years later. Drivetrain is in, just gotta go the wiring and plumbing and it’s still not running. Things kept coming up. Car shows, family stuff and just plain laziness. Driving my friend’s LS2 swapped FD this past weekend gave me a little motivation to get this thing finished. Anyway, I’ve been feeling nostalgic so here are some pictures of the car before the motor was pulled out.

Mounting the center caps correctly on your GTV series wheel is very simple.
Imagining the wheel as a clock’s face, the valve hole will denote the 6:00 position of the wheel. By drawing an imaginary line from the 3:00 position to the 9:00 position you will have a reference point for the angle of the center cap. The SSR logo on the center cap should be parallel with the imaginary line drawn earlier.
