Random thoughts on my week so far

So I’m 5 days into P90x and all the things people say about the program is no joke. I thought I was in decent shape(except for some love handles) until I started this and have since been humbled greatly.  I’ll report back periodically.

A good friend of mine is getting married this Saturday and when I received the invite, I told him I was going to wear a tuxedo t-shirt. He replied with “Go ahead! Do whatever you want.” I’ve since talked a few other people into it also so there will not be a few guys wearing tuxedo t-shirts at his wedding.  It’s gonna be awesome.  Hopefully it doesn’t rain like it’s been all week.

Still haven’t found the Koni Sports that I’m looking for to install with my Tanabe GF210 springs for my FD Rx-7. I’ve called/emailed around but nobody seems to have a full set in stock.  I wish Tanabe still had a coilover application for my car.

Kickball game tonight… wish my team luck!

Awesome Menu!!

When you see it you’ll … err.

Put it this way… How can you misspell something that’s been used so many times.

I was so impressed… I bought smoodie from them. Just because.

The Ultimate Poster in the Universe Man

BASK IN THE GLORY

This poster depicts two men having a jolly time, perhaps singing to the karaoke. You can see it in their eyes — the sheer determination and courage to successfully reach the high note. But what are they pointing at? Perhaps the non-legible English lyric on the karaoke screen?? We may never know…

Though they’re probably singing, take the microphones out of their hands and it looks like they’re puzzled, pointing at the object of confusion while they say, “Nhaaa???” Or they might actually be a couple of stand-up comedians delivering the punchline, “And that’s why you never drop the soap!” Also, I do notice that the guy on the left is wearing what looks like a basketball jersey, covered by… candy necklaces or bicycle chains perhaps. What is going on here? Is this real life?

My kingdom to understand the words on this poster, which I laid mine eyes on, plastered to the wall of a random Asian video store near my house. This is Chinese maybe? From what I can tell, it’s an old poster for some karaoke CDs or DVDs. VCD? The hell? They still make those? I haven’t seen a VCD since the last bootleg Matrix movie. Either way, this poster makes me want to karaoke, since I could probably do way better than these odd characters. Or… maybe not.

Time to get some bball jerseys and candy jewelry, and practice some singing.

A rare clean ZXR750H

I am not really a big fan of bikes, but the sound of this bad boy got my attention when it was ridden up and down the street.  Our neighbor got this 20 years old bike, with only 14k miles,  sitting in their warehouse for long time and decided to start it up.

When it rains it pours

After last week’s FD post about the crossover pipe cracking, the clutch on my daily driver is worn out. After some searching around, I found a Stage 2 clutch for it. Champagne taste on a beer budget right?

Still searching for a few items for the FD though. Still haven’t found a decently priced crossover pipe nor the shocks/struts that I need to install my Tanabe GF210 that I have sitting in a box at Elite Auto Performance. Looking for Koni Sports(yellow) but nobody seeems to have a full set in stock.  I would also like to get some Sway Bars and Razo shift knob for it in the near future too. What do you guys think?

TP Garage

This weekend, I went over to TP Garage to check out the 5-lug swap being done on this S13. 5-lug swap isn’t super difficult, but it takes a while. You know that feeling when… you’re working on a car, and you think you’re almost done… but slowly you see the sun start to set? Yeah… I hate that feeling too. ;)

TP Slave gets back to work before the home owners’ association sends the troops.

Gotta get rid of these super sunk battleship wheels.

That’s more like it! :) Just a little bit of poke that can be cured by a little bit of camber. That’s what’s up!

Later that night, I headed over to Irwindale Speedway to check out the V8 power-sliding event. As you can see, I got the back seat of the back seat. I was behind the gate which was behind the grandstand, which was behind the grandstand in front of it. Epic binocular view.

Go Tanner.

On a side-note, I’d like everyone to please pray for the TP Garage official plant mascot.

As you can see, the mascot has been reduced to a stick holding up another stick. I’m not even sure which one is the plant and which one is the brace. I read somewhere that one of the “rules” of feng shui is to have some plants in your room. It creates an environment of good energy and such (or something like that). Does it apply to sticks?
