A few years ago, the world was graced with this epic 240ZG with a Kenmeri Skyline tail light conversion. That’s right, you heard me, a Skyline tail light conversion. Now while this may sound like some awful 1999 tuner nonsense, I think it looks quite good. The SSR MK-I’s also compliment this car really well…A nice classic styling; Works flares and lip, SSR MK wheels, and a duck tail spoiler. Personally I also think that the G-nose looks more aggressive and sophisticated than the classic 240Z front that just cuts off.The above angle really gives you a grasp of how deep those MK-I are. With these flares, you are very well in the 15×12 – 50 area.. That’s a big wheel. But front end pictures aren’t what lured you here! You want to see what the deal is in the tail light area… Well wait no more.

SSR Wheel Spotting!
If any of you have taken the time to watch the new Initial D: Legend 1 movie, you may know what I am about to post here. For those of you who think I am speaking gibberish and are asking yourselves, “What the heck is Initial D: Legend 1?”, it’s basically an improved-animation version of the beginning of Initial D, compacted into a movie. It’s great, and the car sounds are awesome as well. Seriously. Watch it.
BUT, I digress. After Iketani crashes his Nissan Silvia, we get a close up look at his Akina Speed Star machine. When it pans over to his bandaged self sobbing over his car, we can see the he has SSR MK-II R!

The “Money Burning Mistress” AE86
When Billy Edmonds bought this car back in 2009, I don’t think he had any clue as to how far his project would go. He started off with a beat up AE86 that was missing a few pieces and had bent wheels, but undeterred by the state of the car, he went on to create what most AE86 owners can only dream of..

Reebok’s JTCC HR31
In 1989, Masahiro Hasemi and Anders Olofsson piloted a Nissan HR31 to victory in the Japanese Touring Car Championship’s famed Group A class. It sparked the beginning of the one-make dominance era. Only the Nissan Skylines would win the Group A championship until 1994 when Group A was cut from the JTCC series.
So without further ado, here’s to the car that started it all.. The Reebok Skyline.
For those of you that don’t know the style of the JTCC/BTCC series, cars usually maintained the original exterior and only had a few minor add-ons like a front lip and in this case some air scoops on the windows. But don’t let the simple exterior fool you, these cars had the interior removed with the exception of an instrument panel, door panels, and the driver’s seat. Now Nissan didn’t just hollow out the R31 and throw it on the track, this car came equipped with best engine they could give it (given the restrictions). The precursor to the RB26DETT engine, the RB20DET-R. Only manufactured for a limited run of 800 2000GTS-R Skylines, the Group A engine was fitted with a larger Garrett T048 turbo and a better intercooler allowing for a roaring 430hp at 7200rpm.
